Evie’s Winter Must Haves
Puffer jackets are huge this season as well as in size! Seen on the cat walks slung off shoulders with an abundance of puffy volume. This does not work for everyone though unless you’re tiny and tall like Kendall Jenner! Why not try a more slimlike approach to this trend. My pick is the Seed bomber in on trend powder pink.
Fish nets! Yes I know you’re thinking can I work this trend but I love how this can be worked into any wardrobe no matter your size and shape (a more closely netted stocking will be more flattering for the voluptuous). Wear with ripped jeans or try a less risky option of a netted sock with heels.
The faux fur “shagadelic yeti” jacket (as I like to call it LOL) is a great fun, warm option for Winter. It’s a bulky look so I recommend this style for those who are petite or need to create width at the top half (small shoulders, smaller in the bust etc). This is perfect for a tomboy shape too! I’m loving my Powder pink jacket by Dutchess Martha also available in cream, black and green.
Belts are a simple style staple to add to your wardrobe no matter your shape. Worn always cinched in at the waist to flatter and create more shape with dresses, tuxedo jackets, shirts and fur jackets.
Velvet is a definite must have! Velvet slips, dresses and even wide legged pants have been storming the catwalks! This luxurious fabric is pure decadence for winter. My velvet pick for most shapes is the Bec & Bridge black velvet wrap dress great for curves as can adjust the waist and if you want to hide a tum the ruching is sheer genius. Love love love this dress!
Tuxedo style jackets are a beautiful classic piece that will work well for most shapes. You can add some fun by belting it through the mid section. See Balmain jacket for inspiration.
Leather is big in flared and frilled skirts but still a fave in leggings and biker style jackets. See mustard leather skirt (featured in my cover photo) and for a cheaper option see Frontier Skirt by Sheike .
Over the knee boots are still in favour for winter although for a fresh approach try a full lace up boot! I’m totally in love with this Zimmermann boot on sale for $875 but for a cheaper version see the Novo boot on sale for $89.95.
Colours to work into your Winter wardrobe are the continuous of pastel pinks and purples of varying shades, fiery red is at the forefront, midnight blue especially in velvet, military greens as well as metallics are huge especially silver.
